Horn Creek Loop is a 15.9 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Westcliffe, CO that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, fishing, and mountain biking and is accessible from June until October.
From Westcliffe, go south approximately 3 miles on Hwy. 69,turning right onto Schoolfield Rd. Follow this road for 0.9 mile and turn left on Colony Ln. After 2 miles, turn right onto Horn Rd. for about 4.5 miles to its end near Horn Creek Ranch. Bear right at the entrance to the ranch and continue about a hundred yards to the trailhead.
Beautiful mountain, but gets steep and rocky near the summit. Not much foot traffic, great if you like to hike in secluded areas. Beware of the rain, it's almost daily in the summer.
