Hermit Lake Trail is a 0.1 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Westcliffe, CO that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, fishing, and off road driving and is accessible from May until November. Dogs are also able to use this trail.

Short trail to a pretty Lake, hiking and fishing, 1/2 mile out & back. Trail in forest to the lake. When you get to the lake it opens up where you can see the mountains above the lake, lake is good fishing for brook trout.
This is mentioned as an easy, 0.1 mile trail, but a couple of miles before the trailhead, the road becomes very rough. So you either must have a vehicle with 4WD and decent ground clearance or hike a few miles. Also, be aware that there is no designated parking, or even clear trail markings at the beginning of the offroad area. Plan accordingly.
Short trail through trees to lake and then it opens up to see the mountains on other side of lake. Good fishing for brook trout. Bunches of columbines on hillside on other side of lake the first part of July.
