Basin Trail is a 8.7 mile lightly trafficked point-to-point trail located near Telluride, CO that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible from July until November. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Starting at Station St. Sophia Gondola terminal, travel to the Sheridan Fork taking the left trail near the snowmaking storage ponds and gate for six miles on ski area service roads. Enjoy 2,240 feet of steep climbs and descents, past the base of Lift 14, over Prospect Creek, past Lift 12, over Cropsey Creek, and down through the ski area. Connects with Prospect Trail. Vehicles may be encountered along this route.

The Basin Trail is not too exciting by itself because it is just a ski area access road. However, it crosses several excellent rogue trails to add some exciting single track. Towards the end of the trail, it intersects the Prospect Trail several times, so you can leave the road for the downhill single track.
