Wawona Meadow Loop Trail is a 3.7 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Yosemite National Park, CA that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Horses are also able to use this trail.
Take a relaxing stroll around a beautiful meadow with this easy 3.5-mile loop. If you are looking for an easy afternoon walk to explore Wawona consider the Wawona Meadow Loop. Located conveniently next to the Wawona Hotel, the trailhead is just across Highway 41. Compared to most other hikes in Yosemite, this is about as easy as they come: it's a 3.5-mile level stroll around the meadow, and most of it us under tree cover which makes it a perfect hike for the afternoon when the sun is out and temperatures are at their hottest. If you are looking for some wildlife, consider going during the "golden hours" of the day, around dawn or dusk, when you may spot some deer grazing in the grass. While you won't break much of a sweat on this hike, it's a perfect way to end a day visiting Mariposa Grove, or to build up your appetite for dinner at the Wawona Hotel restaurant.
Easy trail. Pretty scenery, but nothing spectacular. Lots of horses, manure, and mosquitoes. There are better choices in Yosemite.
Great for a flat walk or a very casual bike ride. Too early or too late, and you'll likely see a bear coming down the hill for dinner.
great easy loop to do if you have a dog. there was no one else on the trail so we let him off leash and run through the meadows. check out toulumne grove also if you have a dog.
Easy trail lots to see and take pictures
In all fairness we didn't do the entire loop, but I wouldn't waste much time here. There are much more beautiful hikes in Yosemite. THis one even borders a golf course. If your time is limited, keep driving.
Easy going with lots of nature!
One of my favorites in Wawona! Beautiful any time of year, and is an easy walk.
This is a great training trail run or just a nice, scenic walk. On one of the runs with my partner, we had a baby bear run across the trail in front of us and up a tree....we kept going, because we knew momma wasn't too far away. We also encountered a rattle snake, slithering by. It can be a bit of a challenge to run the whole loop in the dead of summer, but definitely doable.
