Take a nice hike through the redwoods to Pfeiffer Fall followed by a walk to a stunning view of the Big Sur valley below If you are going to hike only one trail in Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, this trail should be it. It is only 0.7 miles through massive redwoods to beautiful Pfeifer Fall only 1 mile to the top of the valley view trail from the trailhead. Within an hour this hike will show you the redwood trees, falls, and vistas of Big Sur.
Sweet Jesus I wasn't ready for the steep incline. Heavy traffic in the beginning but thins out toward the top. It was hazy at the top but still beautiful nonetheless. FYI: You get cell phone reception at the sign.
We did this hike along with Pfeiffer Falls and together I'd rate it 4/5. It was my first time in the Big Sur area so this was a good little introduction to the what was to come.

Wrong map for this trial
Expected a better closer view but ok.
Not very difficult, some steep areas. Nice views.
Easy trail. Nice view, took no more than 20 minutes.
Very busy trial. Great views from
Great hiking trails and prefect for families. Beautiful views and a few places to rest along the trails after a few steeper hills but again great trails for everyone and easy walking and paths.
If you're in the area and feel like some hiking, it's a good workout uphill with a nice view at the top. Mostly in the shade, so especially suited for a hot day. The trail is pretty popular, so if you're not a fan of crowds on trails, keep that in mind.
Mostly uphill til you get to the last stretch.. good workout! There's a bench at the end that's a nice place to rest and take in the good views of the mountains before heading back down the trail
This is a nice hike in Pfeiffer Big Sur that only takes an hour or so. The waterfall won't change your outlook on life, but it is still nice to look at, as is the nice view from the lookout at the top of the hike.
