An 8-10 mile paddle through one of the largest remaining wetlands on Clear Lake. Beautiful ridgeline and mountain views. A bucolic paddle along Clear Lake's largest remaining natural shoreline, past cottonwoods and ancient oaks and small waterfront hamlets. Far-reaching views of Mount Konocti, the Mayacamas mountains, and the north shore. Highlights include: - Wetlands, tule reeds - Migratory waterfowl route - Views of Mt Konocti - Wildlife viewing - Grebe nesting areas - Heron rookeries - Hitch spawning run From the boat launch at Lakeside Park, 1985 Park Drive in Lakeport, paddle toward the lake and turn left to head west. Continue for a few miles exploring the tule wetlands. A great place to stop for lunch is Konocti Vista Casino. Then continue west to explore more wetlands or retrace your paddling steps back to the park launch.
