A super short (1/2 mile round-trip), but scenic historic hike to an old Native American site located within Anza Borrego Desert State Park.

Very short walk. Not much of a hike but interesting historical value. The morteros are well-marked. Great for kids or people who can't really hike. Easy access and parking.

This trail is really more of a "nature" trail in length than a hike, but is definitely worth the stop due to its cultural and historic value. Since it's so near the Petroglyphs trail, we recommend combining the two. Its close proximity to Highway 78 and the west end of the park makes it a great little stop on your way in our out of Anza Borrego. (Date hiked: April 12, 2009.)
