Sunset Rock is a 2 mile out and back trail located near Sequoia National Park, California. The trail is rated as moderate and primarily used for hiking.
I got there just in time to see the sunset! Just beautiful!!! Easy hike, but after sunset the light goes quickly, bring a flashlight.
A great hike with kids of all age. Be sure to bring a snack and enjoy the view at the rock. I even take a nap.
This is a nice easy trail out to a big flat rock with great views. Leaving from the Giant Forest museum Im fairly certain it is more like 3 miles out and back, not 6.
Very easy and pleasant little adventure
It's an easy walk/hike, great scenery along the way as well. You stroll through a pine cone "forest" and over a creek. The panoramic view from the rock is amazing, especially during "sunset." The hike back is slightly downhill , not so much but, I do advise taking flash lights if you do stay and watch the sunset, it tends to darken very quickly since the sun sets behind a mountain range. All in all it is a great hike and I recommend to any hiker, adventure-seeker!
