Explore Stonewall Panoramic trail and the plethora of what Claremont Regional Preserve has to offer. An excellent choice if you are visiting UC Berkely and are in search of an activity. A great spot to enjoy the sunset over the Bay No Bikes
I loved it.
Moderate hike on a pretty straight-forward trail. If you stay on the trail you will end up to the Math building and from there you can return back to the parking lot. Great view of the Bay and UC Berkeley buildings.
I loved it.
Very simple walk up a fire road. There are some off road portions but not many. Good for casual walks.
There is an AC Transit bus close to the end of the hike that will take you right back to downtown Berkeley if you don't want to walk back down. The bus is the 65.
Great climb with shade and sun. Wide trail. Not too jammed with people but in the middle of lots of UC Berkeley Science buildings - sometimes you only want to see trees but still great route in Tilden.
Hike was great. Beautiful day and thankfully not hot. One short hill was very steep as noted in other posts but otherwise a great hike. Looking forward to when there is a little more water in the stream.
The trail was overall okay. it had one uphill section towards the beginning that was the most difficult, then it was fairly easy from there on out. you maybe get 2 pockets of good views of the uc campus and of the bay. there are better east bay trails out there though.
Great! We did a 5 mile version due to lack of water and snacks. It had 3 decent climbs, for a total of 1200 feet total elevation gain. Gorgeous bay, city and canyon views. Quite active with friendly people. Not marked.
Butt-kicking climbs begin this fun hike in the Berkeley hills. Seriously, the seemingly never-ending ascent is a workout but the persistent hiker is soon rewarded with sweeping panoramic views of SF and the Bay out to the Pacific. After the two miles of hills it's a gently rolling and mostly flat hike back to the trailhead with only minor sections of steep downhill. Saw a family of deer last time!
This hike is also a favorite when I want a good workout but am short on time. It's 6.5 miles can be done in two and a half hours.
Great trail for dogs!
The view of the bay is beautiful! The only downside is the amount of dog poop on the trail left by irresponsible owners who either didn't bring a poop bag or had their dog(s) off leash and didn't see it happen
