If you'd like an easy and peaceful early morning stroll, it's perfect. If you're up for a challenge I would choose another trail. Worth it, but not a great workout.
For cyclists, there was a lot of pedestrian traffic which means quite a bit of stop and go keeping you focused primarily on the trail and away from all the great things going on around you. Also, this is an 8mph path so if you're hoping to make time, you might want to find something elsewhere. Otherwise, it's the beach. The fresh air, the colorful citizenry... That's just a plain good time.
Easily one of the best bike paths in SoCal.
This bike path has a great view of the ocean with a brisk cool wind from Santa Monica to Marina Del Rey. Definitely a must do if you haven't. Enjoy!
This is like one of the first bike paths in LA and is probably the most famous because it goes right thru Venice on the way to Marina del Rey. Here it's the people watching that makes this path unique and the more unique bike you ride through here the more you become a part of the culture.
