Part of the trail system from SR to Sebastopol, also a nice walk
This is a Class I bike route in the City of Santa Rosa. A nice little ride to the outskirts of town, along a pretty section of Santa Rosa Creek. It is not heavily used, maybe because there is no real destination on the western end, but it is used to get to downtown or for casual walks or bike rides. More people use the Joe Rodota Trail for longer rides or to get to Sebastopol and western Sonoma County.
Beautiful walking trail through wine country! Lots of different Birds singing their songs, chasing eachother through the brush. You can hear Horses & Cows in the near distance, you can see them along the trail depending which side you travel. There were a few people biking and walking their dogs, probably taking advantage of the weather before the rain starts. As mentioned in another review one side is paved, the other is a dirt/gravel road. I only walked about 2 miles in, just past the 2nd bridge, before I had to turn around to make it back to my car before the sun set. Will definitely visit again!
Walking along the creek. Travel west is paved, east is not. You see vineyards, farms and backyards. Peaceful and flat. Busy on weekends with bikes and walkers. Good trail. Dogs okay.
