Russ Park - Victorian Ferndale is a 2.6 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Ferndale, California and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
Decent trail with various benches to rest and location maps along the way. Great pristine forest with primitive plants. However there is nearly zero views as the underbrush is so thick it closes any visibility. I would rate this trail average.
Good location close to town. Various routes so you can choose how long your hike is.
A nice hike through mountain forests with benches along the way for rest stops. Steep inclines and declines through overgrown bushes, plants, trees, and roots. But great scenic viewpoints among the different trails and distances to choose from with a posted map at each trailhead. It is dog friendly where they can go off-leash as long as they are not aggressive. Very minimal traffic, as I have yet to encounter anyone on any of the trails despite how many cars were parked in the lot.
Great local walk
Beautiful hike. I love bringing visitors here. We get pie after in town
