Rose Bowl Loop Trail is a 3.1 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Pasadena, CA and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and trail running and is accessible year-round.
So much better than pavement. Smell the trees, hear the birds, feel the soft dirt under your feet.
it is a great walk or for jogging. always friendly faces.
You can either walk the entire perimeter on pavement or you can access the trail running sections that run the length of each side of the loop . One entrance is across from the parking lot for the golf course, you will see stone steps leading up to the street on the other side, and directly to the left of those stairs are the dirt steps up to the trail. You will have to jump on the pavement for a bit until you get over to the other side. From there look behind where the cars park in the dirt and you can pick up the trail again. It's nothing to write home about but I find it more pleasant and less boring than the pavement loop .
It's a walk around sparking lot
Great for walks but you can also run and bike. In between the golf courses appears to be a trail. Walked part of it which adds to the miles completed from 3.1 to 3.4.
A nice walk for a bright sunny day. I didn't realize until about half way through that I was walking in the wrong direction..oops. I guess pedestrians are supposed to walk the paved walkway in a counter-clockwise direction. That being said, it was a nice way to spend an hour.
Paved loop around rose bowl. Perfect for walk or run with stroller.
Good for a nice, easy run. Occasionally a few people. More people tend to use the paved Rose Bowl Loop. Watch out for the crowds on the second Sunday of the month for the Flea Market. It makes parking a nightmare!
I've been running the Rose Bowl Loop for years and find that it is excellent for those days when you just want to take it easy and pace. Its relatively flat and requires no specific skills.
I would rank this loop as extremely easy to easy. A paced, no worries run can be completed in 40 -45 minutes. Great for those days when you missed your real training. A good warm up for the gym afterwards.
