off road driving
5 mile hike to a Geographical scouting spot. Old equipment still on top of summit. No real trail exists until you get to the saddle. We blazed up the side of the false peak and round trip was around 8 miles because we went straight down the side of Red Mt. It became a really big loop for us.
This is a overview from somebody on summit post
Been here twice, just off the 395 in The town of Red Mt. Good hike and you have to blaze yer own trail to the summit. It's a 5K summit and you'll know you got there because of the old survey equipment on top. Great views of the desert and you can see toward Death Valley, Sierra's, and Angeles Natl Forest.
