Rainbow Trail is a 1 mile loop trail located near South Lake Tahoe, CA. The trail is good for all skill levels and primarily used for hiking.
Love this place! We come here every time we're in Tahoe. Nice walk on paved pathways and if you come in October you can see all the salmon in the creek!
There are currently two different map locations for this trail. This trail in NOT located on lookout point circle. Don't waste your time looking for it there.
This trail is located off of Visitor Center Rd. When you get there it's a very easy paved walk. There is also another trail nearby that leads to the lake.
Beautiful meadows, the creek is nice too!!
Beautiful trail! This is great for kids and easy enough for all skill levels. Paved and boardwalk path - wheelchair accessible:)
Lovely and informative. Short portion was under a few inches of water, but not a problem.
one of my favorite hikes
This is a great hike (more like stroll on paved path) that takes you through the different habitats found in Lake Tahoe. The best time to go is during the Kokanee Salmon run when they have a huge family friendly festival that teaches you all about the salmon traveling upstream to mate. The fish are bright red, and it's a beautiful thing to see. The trail takes you through an underground fish chamber so you can see what is going in under the water. So much fun!
