There is no trail, so to speak. You take a short trail from the trailhead/ parking lot and when you reach the east side of the dome, scramble up the rock.

Spectacular views if you decide to hike up onto the Dome The trail, if there is one, that goes all the way around the dome, was wet in places and disappeared because it was late spring. I'm not sure how long this trail actually is because when we no longer could see the trail, we decided to go up on the dome which was fabulous.

Such a fun little hike! Very short with spectacular views of the meadow and cathedral peak etc...gorgeous place to sit for a while and watch the clouds roll in.
For rock hounds/geology buffs: this place has awesome feldspar crystals! They're so big and sparkly!

Very easy hike that's family friendly. Gives you a good view of the meadow, the Cathedral Peak, and the surrounding mountains.

This is a fun little hike near the edge of Tuolumne Meadows and a great hike added to the trail through the meadows themselves. I did this in late September and it was just awesome.

Hiked down along the base of the dome to the Tuolumne River and then went back and hiked up this dome and got some great views of Toulumne meadow.

Spectacular 360 views from the top. Short, easy hike; well worth the quad burn to get there.

Great view of Tuolumne Meadows from the west end (is also a Yosemite shuttle stop about 1.5 miles west of the Tuolumne Meadows Info Center)... from the small parking lot, hike around the meadow to the left (because the meadow is frequently soaked, esp in the late spring), and walk from the left along the base of the dome until you feel comfortable walking right up the dome... the farther right you go, the easier it is to step up; is a very easy hike with great views from the flat top... and the potholes fill with water when it rains; plus has some bubbles (deposited by the glaciers) on the top of the dome. Great view of the meadows and you can wander over the top and down the other side to extend the hike. Worth the short trip.
