This is the trail that starts at Apple Canyon Road for the east endpoint of the trail. The west endpoint of this trail is inside Hurkey Creek Campground, which requires a day pass to park and hike from there. But if you go to Apple Canyon Road, for around a mile where you can find a safe place to park. You can hike the east endpoint of the trail for free. This trail is a long distance loop which takes you back to Hurkey Creek Campground ultimately, you’re probably looking at 8 miles minimum.
