Pacific Crest Trail Section 15 is a 7.1 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Truckee, California that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as difficult. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible from March until October.
It's an fun fast out and back. awesome views. if your in good shape you can run it in good time. it's rated hard but it's leisure.
Great leisurely trail with wonderful views of the lake. Definitely go off the trail and explore.
Very scenic ,a lot of beautiful wildflowers lots of shade, mellow terrain as far as up and down but lots of rocks and interesting rock formations. Great views of Donner Lake at the very beginning of section 15 -scenic point. Several water features for your animals to hydrate
The terrain wasn't very difficult if you stay on the trail. Going off to see the lakes and the beautiful granite slabs is the best part so the bush-wacking adds to the difficulty. I live this trail, it's heart for hiking and running and you get beautiful views of Donner lake the whole way.
Great hike with nice vistas. A bit challenging and steep first mile then gets easier.
Great views and wild flowers.
Did a night hike along Donner Summit side. Super fun and the night sky was amazing!
Nice long hike from the Boreal side to Donner Lake. It's a moderate hike but half way in there is a lot of scree. So if your wearing non hiking shoes, it may be a little rough on ankles and feet.
