This is a really pretty hike
varied thrush, golden-crowned kinglets, pacific wren, band-tailed pigeons, robins, hutton's vireo, steller's jay. Huge trees likely provide homes for goshawk and owls. stream may good for dipper if you can get good views.
it was pretty quiet in Feb.
This is a 2 mile hike down to the Little North Fork of the Feather River. It drops 2000' to the river and has 16 butt kicking switchbacks (on the way up!). Nice spring hike. Stay to the right on all forks when driving in off of the Oro-Quincy hwy. You can park about .5 mile on a large opening before the trailhead to add on some extra miles. Beautiful large trees throughout.
