loved the switchbacks at the beginning if the trail. head up to the cross. beautiful views. some shade along the way
I also went straight up the difficult path and it is a bit tricky with lose rock. Followed the easy trail down so I didn't go sliding down the hill.
Nice 1 hour treck. Good workout going vertical from the trail head then taking the switchbacks down making it a loop.
I find this trail to be of moderate difficulty. Not easy. It's a good climb.
Amazing short workout or family hike.
Good hike for a quick fix or when you have an hour or so to kill. Will get the heart pumping a bit and the views are not bad. Best for locals, I would not go out of your way to hike here as it is simply a very short hike overall.
There is very little shade and as the main track is on the east side of the hill it can get warm quickly in the summer even in the morning. The main trail is well worn and hard packed and easy to follow.
The only thing to try to be careful about is to not end up following the erosion cuts formed between switchbacks which are further worn down by careless or lazy hikers. Trail crews have tried to block them off but people insist on cutting.
Nice short hike with a nice view from the top.
It ws ok. No shade or cover, but if u include side trip to Reagan Library its worth it.
It is probably a better hiking trail than MTB trail. It isn't as fun as other trails in the area. It takes about 30 minutes to an 1 hour to get to the top. For MTB it takes only 5-10 minutes to get down depending on how fast you are since the turns are really sharp.
Took the family here for a short, albeit somewhat steep uphill (but not so bad using the switchbacks), hike. Once at the top the 360 degree view was spectacular. The kids loved it and had a blast. It only took an hour or so round trip, and we spent 15-20 minutes at the top...of course the kids were running the whole way down.
Beautiful sunrise and sunset. Good view of Simi Valley
Can continue to Ronald Reagan library.
The hike was a good one! If you choose the zigzag path, don't get it confused with the 90 degree angle that looks like where you need to start when you first get on the path. There is a starting point a bit further. It was a glorious mistake though. Hike on!
Also took steep incline by mistake. Turned back and traversed the easier trail. Well worth it!
Makes for a great night hike looking over all of Simi Valley
Take the switch backs. Heading straight up the hill was gnarly. Good hike, good views
This is a fairly easy hike and while suitable for beginners, even more experienced hikers will be rewarded with a grand 360 view at the summit. From that summit you can continue on toward the Reagan Library entrance if you follow the trail toward the water tank. From there just take the blacktop down to the main road, up to the library entrance and back again, making it a total round trip of roughly 4 miles with an elevation gain of 748 feet.

If you want a challenge do the trail mountain biking down the east switchbacks!
