Go to La Quinta Cove and start at Cove to Lake Trail or go to Lake Cahuilla and start from there.

Great hike but it's 7 miles not 0.6. 3 1/2 miles each way. Who's calculating these hikes?

Started at the cove in La Quinta, and came over the ridge to the lake. Had a quick test isn't the grass, and refilled the water bottles for the home back. The trail was well marked and In good shape. It was a hot day, so I'm glad we had plenty of water.

I did witness some very poor putting on the green as we hiked by. Beautiful golf course though.

Hiked this trail back in Oct 4, 2013, It’s a difficult trail to find if you’re coming from the cove, because there’s no telling where it starts when you’re at the Golf Course area. It appears to start when you see the trail that go up the side of the hills on the left side. It’s clearly marked once you arrive close to the lake. It’s an interesting trail if you take the trail that go up the side of the mountain. But you have to be very careful at one spot when you’re close to the Golf Course because rain has wash away a portion of the trail making that one spot a bit dangerous to cross. This trail is best to hike early in the morning, have plenty of water ready if you’re going to start at the Cove in La Quinta.
