This is one of my favorite hikes. It is part of the Pacific Crest Trail running from the Mexico border to the Canadian border. While I haven't taken the long trek, we often hike out to the dam and then fish all day, working our way back on the Shoreline. While the lake level is really low, the trail itself is a great moderate hike. You can customize it by traveling the other trails as well. Wonderful scenery, very quiet and lots to explore.
