its a nice walk on a beautiful day.
Nice little walk with the boyfriend and dog. Enjoyed seeing butterflies.
This was a wonderful day walk. The ranger was kind and helpful and the beach was amazing!
A family favorite. We love walking the boardwalk to and from Pismo.
its a beautiful trail to walk...didnt see a single butterfly though :( however we did see a couple hummingbirds. very peaceful and relaxing little walk.
This is the perfect time of year for this trail and the butterflies are here, so go if you can! The staff is generally very friendly and helpful. Me and a couple of friends were just staring up at the butterfly hives when the lead docent came over donned in a huge hat and a butterfly-imprinted ascot and just started talking about butterfly behavior. And how sometimes the male butterflies drag female butterflies down to the ground and have sex with them in a way that can only be described as rape. Well, uh, yeah.... Anyways, the butterfly grove is best viewed during the day, but walking out to the beach is best during sunset, the trees along the beachfront look really cool in sunset silhouette.
Great running trail. Flat, peaceful, other runners.
Nice spot for dogs and butterfly viewing. Go when it's sunny because that's when the monarchs are more active. Between the grove and the beach is a state run campground with flush toilets. Dogs can enjoy the beach on leash and there is plenty of bird watching for both species.
We came here in early November, and there was not a tremendous amount of butterflies; however, it was a great walk and a picturesque beach outlet.
Bring a set of binoculars to really enjoy this adventure. The butterflies are hard to see, even when they are right above you. At a glance, they just look like leaves of the trees, but with a closer look through binoculars, you can see bunches of butterflies clinging to each other. When they open their wings, then, the true color of the butterfly can be seen. However, when hanging from the trees, their wings are folded close, and they are a very dull brownish color and hard to see.
Great to do with your family.
Lots of nature with the monarch butterfly's! Nice hike that goes all the way to the beach. Found lots of sand dollars.
good trip!!! http://www.mattressland.co.uk/mattresses
Pleasant trail. Easy for families with kids. Butterfly season is November to February. Part leveled dirt, part boardwalk. There is a bathroom at the south end of the trail
This trail is located in Pismo Beach, not Paso.
