Los Santos Trail is a 2.3 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Murrieta, CA that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.
One of the trails at Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve. There two places where you can park depending which portion of Los Santos trail you wanted to start. This trail is essentially two the one near Hidden Valley Trail Head is a partial loop and the one at Vernal Pool Trail Head would be a connecting trail to the partial loop.
First time out there. Beautiful scenery. Los Santos trail from the Vernal Pools was a little rough for me. I had no idea what to expect on that trail. It was still a bit wet from the rain so made going up and down slippery. Plan to return and do other trails.
This is a grassland covered rolling hills type environment, beautiful panoramic open views 360 degrees. Only hiked the one near Hidden Valley Trail Head, which is a partial loop. Will have to return to explore the rest of the other trails, there are many at the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve. Note requires a daily entrance fee $3, open sunrise to sunset, no dogs, no smoking.
