Beautiful hike along a stream and meadows to the lake. Horse camping is nearby meaning lots of droppings and bugs. Easy trail though not too steep, definitely child friendly. But like I said for this region it is heavily camped and if your all the way out here I would suggest going a little further to Forks or up to Mule Bridge. There is a trail going into the bushes to get to the meadow on the far side of the lake.. DO NOT take it. There is another trail going around these bushes, if you look for it you'll find it.
Nice swimming lake at the end of a hot hike. Lots of cows and horses - meant lots of flies!
Beautiful wildflowers were still in abundance.
