Lake George to Deer Lakes is a 10.6 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Mammoth Lakes, California that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and backpacking and is best used from August until October.
There are beautiful views of lakes and creeks and mountains. Lots of shaded areas.
Great hike!! Recommend going early to avoid lots of other hikers
The views on this hike are simply stunning from start to finish. In mid July, there is a huge variety of high altitude wildflowers of various kinds along the whole trail. The last half mile trek down to Deer Lakes is extremely steep - be prepared. Overall one of the most beautiful high altitude hikes I've done in the Eastern Sierras.
