You walk along the Sonoma coastline on a well maintained trail, much of this trail is a double plank wood walkway that goes over wetland, the hike ends at Shell beach. There are options for this hike making for a much longer hike, you can find a map at the tail head.
Had to rush along the trail thanks to approaching rain, but the magnificent coastal views are something to be savored. Trail is pretty much flat the entire way.
A beautiful easy hike along the coast.
take the kids here often. don't forget the sunblock !!
I loved this hike because of it's simplicity. It's nice for a day you just need to get away and get some fresh air. Nothing too strenuous. It had wonderful views of the coast line. I went in spring and really enjoyed the wildflowers and caterpillars. The descent down to the beach was overgrown with foliage and completely different than the rest of the trail. We did see one small snake on the flat part of this trail so be mindful. All in all, a lovely easy going hike. (note: it was EXTREMELY windy. Always be prepared with layers when you hike on the coast). We had a picnic lunch at the beach before returning. It's a really great spot for chilling out.
