We did this hike with our Boy Scout troop as part of our Mini Peak Bagger series. The wide fire road makes this a great hike for youth, although it might be too strenuous for kids under 10. The trail is mostly exposed, with little shade. At the top of the peak you will be able to sit next to the antennas and communication gear. Great views of Strawberry Peak and surrounding areas.

Park near Clear Creek station, make sure you have an Adventure pass. There are no bathroom facilities on the trail, so you might want to go at Clear Creek before you start your hike. The wide fire road is also great for mountain biking.
