High View Nature Trail is a 1.3 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Yucca Valley, California that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.
Directions from Oasis Visitor Center: Drive westward on Highway 62 and turn south on Joshua Lane, which will lead to Black Rock Canyon. Before reaching the entrance to the campground turn right and drive to South Park parking area.
Camped out in Black Rock Canyon Campground, and took a quick trip up to Hi-View. This trail is also called the West Side Loop Trail, and is accessible right from the outskirts of the campground. The trail is VERY maintained, there are nice rock-luged stairs where the grade gets a little too steep. The view from the top is GREAT, although could sometimes be EXTREMELY windy/cold depending on season. It's the end of January, and our entire camping trip/hike was plagued by seriously high winds. There was a storm coming in, don't know if the had anything to do with it specifically, or if the area is randomly windy.
