Grey Lodge Wildlife Area is a 1.8 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Gridley, California that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from November until February. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
dogs on leash
Beautiful and busy with birds in November
Awesome trail super easy please be aware of the mosquitoes they are so TERRIBLE!!! The whole thing is cover we actually ran to finish the hike so bring the plenty of bug repellent
has paved walk ways and wild life look out buildings ....lots of snake holes and wild life ..it was a nice stroll but not much of a hike really
Easy 2+ mile hike through the wildlife preserve. Mostly flat, gravel roads with 3 viewing blinds and one viewing platform. We did the hike beginning at parking lot 14 which is 2 miles but diverted onto the interpretive trail for a total of 2.4 miles. The fee was supposed to be $4 per person but there was no security box to take the envelope so we just carried it with us in case someone asked.
I strongly suggest sunscreen and mosquito repellent.
