cross country skiing
Drive to the best view in all of Yosemite. This 270-degree view of the Valley, Half Dome, and 3 Falls will amaze you. Glacier Point is a popular stop for many new visitors to Yosemite National Park on their way down to Yosemite Valley. Although it's not much of a hike, the view at the end of the paved walkway will leave you breathless. You will see (left to right) both Upper and Lower Yosemite Falls, Yosemite Valley below, Clouds Rest, Half Dome standing proud, and even Vernal and Nevada Falls. What more could you ask for? Winter In Winter the road to Glacier Point is closed to cars, but strap on a pair of cross country skis or snowshoes and you should be good to go. If you want to stay overnight, reserve a spot in the Glacier Point Ski Hut where there are bunk beds (dormitory style), a wood fire, food, and good company.
Crowded but spectacular view of the valley.
Lovely trail! I don't believe the incline is as much as this guide indicates though. Unforgettable views, but extremely crowded and full of the selfie stick crowd.
The view is well worth it
A long drive up, but the views were great!
5 stars for the view, if you want a fun hike, this isn't it, but one of the best views of the park hands down. Only negative is it is VERY crowded
This is a short walk (hardly a hike) but the final view is spectacular. I second the many comments on this walk and have done it at least 5 times in over 60 years.
quick walk to a great view
Great view of all of the valley. Best place in Yosemite if you don't feel like hiking but want to enjoy the view from the top.
Trail was pave and easy. The view of it is worth walking. But it get crowd easy. Just got to wait to get your chance at the beautiful scenery. Mostly a tourist sight area.
Probably the best views in all of Yosemite. Not a proper hike though. It's just a bunch of tourists treating themselves to ice cream for taking a bus to a viewpoint. We combined with Sentinel Dome (go there first) and it made for a great day.
One of the world's most beautiful views. Short trail at top, great places for picnics. Launching point for some very long hikes if you're interested. There's a store too, great place to pick up gifts and to grab an ice cream.
The view was beautiful but less of a challenge. Great for the drive and for families.
Great views of the valley
