Foothill Trail is a 4.2 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Ojai, California that offers scenic views and is rated as difficult. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is accessible year-round.
We used this as a secondary trail after Shelf Road Trail. The initial ascension is a bit steep if you aren't fit and looking forward to some uphill travels, but it is by all means doable and zig zags so you can take breaks as needed.
The views are beautiful and the foliage is vibrant! There were portions that had quite a bit of bees but as long as you don't go out of your way to kill them, they should not bother you. Almost no trash from what I recall, which I absolutely love and appreciate; let's keep it that way!
