Fitzgerald Marine Reserve is a 0.9 mile out and back trail located near Moss Beach, California and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.
Explore the coastal bluffs of the Fitzgerald Marine Preserve. Come at low tide to explore some fantastic tide pools, if you are lucky you may sight a seastar.
Hiked the beautiful trail on a cool clear winter afternoon with the trees overhead and the sounds of the waves crashing from the ocean nearby. I personally recommend going around late afternoon/early dusk because the sunset is absolutely gorgeous. The trail in the marine reserve itself is short but it connects to another one further north to an unmarked (Bluff?) trail which leads to Point Montara Lighthouse.
Never done it on it's own but I've done it as part of the hike to Half Moon bay. Five stars for gorgeous location/views...
Great for seeing marine life and a nice and shady hike though the small patch of trees.
Short hike. Good for families. But the real draw are the tide pools. Come at low tide and explore.
