Fish Canyon Falls Trail is a 8.4 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Duarte, CA that features a waterfall and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.
This trail was closed because of the San Gabriel Complex fire, but may have reopened - check http://www.accessduarte.com for the latest info.
This trail is posted closed until September 7, 2017.
This is one of my favorite trails in San Gabriel Valley.
The trail head is a little hard to find and not well kept when u start out. The beginning of the trail is the greatest elevation gain and will kick your butt if your not used to hiking, make sure and save some energy for going up it on the way back! The trail was cool, a little boring but did have a nice waterfall at the end. The one downside to the trail was the ticks, I had about 3 or 4 on me about half way through.
I'm distraught that this trail has been destroyed by the fire. It was one of the best waterfall hikes in Socal.
The trail has been consumed by the San Gabriel Complex fire (all of it).. No report yet as to when it will re-open, but it will be months if not years. This is truly devastating
It really is an intermediate hike. It takes me about 45 mins nonstop to the end and 30 mins for return (faster if I jogged). I would take an elevation mask for a more intense hike. The waterfall is nice treat when you make it to the end, though only runs during wet season.
Hopefully this trail will not close because of the fire. If someone could provide an update.
Nice trail- app is way off about the distance- it's posted as 2.6 miles to the falls, each way- not sure where 8 came from- but this app is almost always wrong when it comes to distance!
really enjoy this trail i go with my son who is 13, and there is shade and cool breezes that make it refreshing. it is a moderate hike.
Easy for the family and has a gradual incline. Please watch your kids, trails are not wide.
Steep and narrow trail. Not kinda child-friendly-trail. But good work out though.
this trail starts off very slow and has its narrow points, then progressively gets steeper and a little more difficult. would not recommend for the elderly or any one with equilibrium problems due to narrow loose rocks pathways, other then that a great workout nice views and beautiful butterflies.
5.2mi from the parking lot and back. It was very picturesque. Beautiful vistas everywhere. You have to climb through & over some rocks. Nothing major just take your time. The falls was more than a trickle but pleasant enough. On warmer days go early in the morning. Free parking too.
Pretty easy but trail etiquette sucked on this single track trail. Nice short day hike.
GREAT trail! Beautiful 3 tier waterfall at the end of a good hike
