Fiesta Island Trail is a 4.1 mile loop trail located near San Diego, CA. The trail is good for all skill levels and primarily used for hiking, walking, trail running, and road biking. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
I hiked here with my 5lb Pomeranian and she loved it. Not the prettiest of hikes though. The only advantage is walking along the "island".
Pretty nice walk with my dog.
Loved... Added to the mission bay bike trail for a longer ride
verry nice place to spend the day.
Great for dogs but there was jellyfish in the water.
It is not a full circle. You can not get through on the PB part of the trail. You need to go back the way you came. Only dogs are allowed during certain times of the day and the bathrooms are closed (conserving water or something like that).
Really, it's only a three-star trail, but I gave it four due to its convenient parking and diversity of lush greens, sandy shores, bike and roller-blade paths, and even an off-leash area for dog lovers. Actually, while writing this review I just realized it is a four-star trail after all!
One of my favorite spots to take my dog. The view is pretty. Easy, relaxing walk.
I've been here a couple of times, first for a bonfire! not really a hike lol, even though you haven't left san diego, it feels like you have..... 2nd time I went with some mates and we electric skateboarded around the loop a couple times! soo much fun. Now I just have to walk it!
This is the best spot in San Diego to hike and play with your dog. Horses, I agree, should probably stay to the East and North end of the West side, that is outside the fenced area most of the dogs run, but those make a long, very nice ride along the sand and many people trailer in their horses. Fiesta Island is cool enough on hot days for dogs to play and people to ride when it is really too hot further inland.
Took the horses here for a swim. Advice to equestrians: stay out of the off leash dog area. It's always full of dogs, most of whom aren't socialized to horses. Can create pack mentality, and some horses/riders have been attacked. There are many unusual sights, sounds and traffic here, so be prepared! It's fun to swim, and once acclimated, the horses do enjoy a trip here, especially in the heat of summer. Avoid Fri-Sun, as the Mission Bay is very busy.
Ok hike. Lots of garbage along the trail. Nice off leash dog park about half way around.
A great place to exercise your dog, especially if they love to swim!
Love taking my son here to hang out. You can park your vehicle in the sand. Good place to drop the kayak and paddle the bay. Large dog park and during the summer over the line tournaments. The loop is great for running or a bike ride. Horses are also aloud here.
