I used to walk the trails of the Ellwood Bluffs SO often, growing up in Goleta. They are so well-maintained and diverse, good for walking/mild hiking, off-road biking, jogging, bird-watching, and photoshoots. The monarch butterflies spend some time here each year during their long migration, and the eucalyptus groves smell amazing. You can easily walk from the parking lot, through the bluffs, and down the cliff to the beach.

Great walking trails, unfortunately not many monarchs 1/20/14, but plenty of wildlife ie gofers, birds, a hawk or two and some beautiful horses with riders. Definitely go all the way to the beach and hit the cliffs!
