Beautiful, and a nice challenge as well.
Lake was very pretty and mountains are cool. Did this on a Monday and not very crowded. Would do it again.
Hiked it today started early a little cold always a great hike Walked all the way around upper echo and then back to Pct and back to truck lotta people on trail great time
It was fun and an amazing experienced for us. Great hike! It was the first hike for one of our friend and she loved it!
Easy hike along the lake. Pretty busy trail (we saw a ton of people) but nice lake views the entire time.
Gorgeous views. The trail is rocky but relatively flat. The toughest part is making sure you don't twist your ankle. We took the water taxi back and that was a treat. It shows a different perspective. Lovely and worth it.
Really enjoyed this trail. Mostly gradual inclines and flat areas, so it was great for my dog and I to go on our own. There was a thunderstorm while we were hiking, which made it even better!
Our family of all ages does this hike every year. It's beautiful. We picnic and swim in the upper lake. Can water taxi in and/or out which is great for bringing in coolers etc. You can rent kayaks, has a small store/ deli with ice cream! The kids love it at the end of the day. Closes at 5pm. Water taxi closed at 4:30. I recommend a hiking stick for unsteady people, a lot of uneven surfaces. Usually crowded. Bathrooms at the beginning of the trail. Must have your personal Kayak inspected ahead of time to bring it in Echo Lake.
Beautiful lake and granite trails, but crowded and noisy from all the boats.
My wife and I (and dog) went hiking here and loved it. Parking and bathrooms at the start are nice. The 2.5 mile hike in is overlooking he lake the whole way. Upper Echo lake was pretty empty when we were there (August) and the water was great for swimming. They have a water taxi there as well in case you don't want to hike back.
Great day!!!! The first hike we have done as a family. Our son is 7.5 and he made it to
Upper Echo Lake and back so kid friendly. Great views and nice people.
