off road driving
Short but difficult hard-core challenge east of Lake Arrowhead. This trail is also called The Deep Creek Trail. It's the difficult eastern part of Forest Road 3N34. The western part is easier Willow Creek Road. Although short, Dishpan Springs is a great hardcore trail. A very popular area for ATVs and dirt bikes. Great hiking and fishing in the area. For latest information on this trail, contact the Big Bear Ranger Station and Discovery Center of the San Bernardino National Forest at (909) 382-2790. Large boulders and steep rocky climbs. Crossing Deep Creek is no longer as difficult as it once was since the forest service has built a bridge.
We were taking a detour to Lake Arrowhead because the trail was closed to Green Valley Lake. Difficult in my Jeep and got to a point (Massive boulder hell) where I had to turn around near the end. definitely would have benefited with lockers..or bigger balls
rain and snow washed away dirt and the rock is all exposed with heavy rutted spots.
Dishpan is an advanced 4X4 trail that all Jeeper's should drive with extreme care. Pick your lines carefully so that you do not damage your vehicle. Lots of beautiful vistas and plenty of excitement along the way. I has a blast traversing the trail and so should you if you know what you are doing. Good Luck!
