Carlon Falls Trail is a 2.8 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Groveland, CA that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and walking and is accessible from April until October.
my kids had a great time.
Great trail on the perimeter of Yosemite. Definitely worth the trip if you are in the area. We did this trail on a Friday evening around 5pm and had the trail to ourselves.
Absolutely stunning. Took the high trail up to the top of the waterfall and spent a few hours wading around in the water. Paradise! One of the items on my "to do" list while visiting from Canada.
Great hike for all levels. nice scenery. we got caught up in a thunderstorm on the way back so we got soaked. regardless it was still an exciting hike. would definitely hike it again.
Great place to waste the day away at
Loved loved it... Gr8 moderate trail for all
Fun trail with a great waterfall at the end. Water is cold but well worth a dip!
It was so peaceful and serene on the walk before we actually got to the falls. So much nature to take in and then right before you get to the falls it gets a little steep but not too hard. The falls were amazing would totally do it again.
Nice hike. Beautiful falls. Fun swimming hole in the summer. We loved it.
Nice hike & one of the few trails opened in the area due to the Rim Fire.
Had a great time! The trail is fairly easy to hike
I hiked this trail over the 4th of July weekend. It was one of the few that are open this year, after the devestation caused by the rim fire. the trail is lined by beautiful trees (or what's left of them) and a small river runs along side. at one point we stopped and relaxed on a fallen tree that lay across the river. It was about 95º but felt much cooler in the shade. The trail is fairly easy (I'll take my 3 yr old next time) although the last half mile gets somewhat steep
The trailhead is located just past the Carlon picnic area sign, over the bridge. You can park on either side of Evergreen Road at the day use areas. We located the parking area easily. There was a map at the information board, the map says trailhead closed from 8/1/11 till 1/1/2012. So bummed. There is construction equipment blocking the trailhead. Major bummer.
I look forward to trying this again next year.
