Hiked the Boggs Peak Trail. there's a riffle range close by. trail wasn't hard. very nice
Very sadly closed due Valley Fire which hit the area extremely hard.
Get a map at parking lot. There is no ring trail per se - just ride whatever. Dirt roads are marked in numbers. Trails with signs. Riding epic.
Great , well marked trails. The interpretive trail right out of main parking lot is very family friendly. Kids love the creek and reading the nature guides. For more moderate hikes take a map- and enjoy! Dogs are welcome. Be sure to use bug spray - and check your dog for ticks. I gave it 4 out of 5 because there are too many vista points, but still beautiful and relaxing walk in the woods.
Absolutely an amazing place to spend the day hiking!
Intermediate trails. There is a lot of good terrain up here and one can piece together any type of day desired. The first day it was I was apprehensive because I was new to the area so I did not go very far, maybe four miles. The second day I had a lot of fun and did about 10 miles altogether. Many trails the link up to others and there are service roads running parallel to most trails. Make sure you get the map or take a picture of the one at the bottom at the ranger station. You could also just save one to your phone from the website if you plan on starting from a different point than the station like I did. Some trails can get pretty steep but most of it you can ride without having to walk up at all. I especially enjoyed going to the top and riding down scout trail, to Karens trail, and then down the loop trail. Not very many people on the trails only saw four people after two different outings. Nobody else on a bike.
Love hiking Boggs. It's got a bunch of different trails you can take and maps are available by the helipad. You can hike, mountain bike or ride horses on the trails. There's also a campground and shooting area. Lake county diamonds are also found there on some trails.
