Nice trail for the first 2.5 miles. Great views nice walking surface. Then it breaks out onto the roads of mill valley.
I didn't expect to do 3 miles on the shoulder of the road. It seems this trail is for mountain bikers. In the future I will turn around after the first 2.5 and weave my way back up the ridge. On the plus side the walk over the road was really nice. Nice houses through a dense forest valley but not good shelter from cars speeding by and not really a hike.
My dog Santino and I loved this trail!
Beautiful from Kentfield
It took us into the town of Mill Valley. It's very hard to find via Google/Apple maps. We started the hike from another spot and hiked to the trail.
Parking is limited to on street parking near trail head. Good fire-road trail that is dog friendly. Steep rolling hills as the elevation increases, great view of Mount Tam, Mill Valley, and the bay...good for trail running, hiking with dogs, and climbing training on a mountain bike (not single track).
