This is one of the top rated rails to trails in the country and well deserved. Walk, bike or snowshoe in the winter. Start in Westwood and bike the 26 miles down for a fun and mostly downhill ride.
This is a nice dirt road trail thanks to the Rails to Trails project. I ran it for about 8 miles from hobo camp. It's totally flat up to that point. It's scenic all the way with ample spots to access the Susan river and cool off if needed. Partly shaded but definitely dry and hot when I ran...which was a. It late (10am) due to the Lassen brewery session the night before.
Great flat trail! Wish we had more time to do more of the trail. Very easy for kids and nice scenery.
some of the best fishing you will ever enjoy.
Multiple trail heads give you a choice of how far you want to hike/bike/ride along the scenic Susan River.
