Billys Peak Lookout is a 5.1 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Trinity Center, California that features a great forest setting and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking and trail running and is best used from June until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
Not recommended for access reasons, even though the written descriptions of the trail make it sound incredible. Access to trailhead is an adventure in itself. There was no trailhead signage from Highway 3, although Forest Road 38N34 had a sign. Immediately after turning onto 38N34 for the 3 mile drive to the trailhead, drivers would need to negotiate an extremely steep and rocky hill. Tried climbing that initial stretch of road on foot and gave up.
