The "Big Tree Loop" is one of the largest and most accessible of the giant coastal redwoods in the area. If you want a quick walk out to one of the closest big trees, then check out this hike! It's just over a half mile to go around the loop, but you can get to the tree in old a couple minutes from the parking lot if you're toting kids or short for time.
Beautiful trail. I had a 6 & 4 year old with me and they loved it. I needed something safe and not too strenuous for the 4 year old. This one was perfect. By the way did I mention how beautiful it was?
a long time ago.....and again today.
Short easy trail the starts and ends at the Big Tree
Just inside the entrance of the park, this is a nice 0.8 mile trail to/ around "Big Tree." Which, there is a parking lot for.. But let's get real, we all park at the ranger station cause we're there to hike!
Great little trail. It's really short but once you're in you almost feel like you've hiked in miles because the forest is so thick. It's great for a short walk.
A short loop near the Big Tree in Prairie Creek Redwoods state park. Lots of pretty redwoods.
