This place was awesome! I'd recommend everyone do this hike at least once. You can make it from the parking lot to the top in 15-20 minutes if you move quick. It took us around 20 minutes to make it to the top and we spent 2 hours enjoying the views and climbing around. Once you get to the top there is a beautiful 360 degree view of mountains and trees. There is lots to explore and a lot of rocks to climb on once you get up there.
The drive is a windy road through the trees and you get a couple great views of Lake Oroville along the way. Small parking lot though. The trail head is easy to find and its easy to follow the trail. Its about 5-10 minute walk until you reach the rock, then start making your way up! There are white arrows spray painted in the rock so you can find your way to the top. Its easy to scale the rocks, we did it in basic running shoes and didn't have any problem getting around. Right now there is not much water but we plan on coming back once the rains have come through, it has potential to have a few waterfalls.
Would definitely recommend this to anyone, it's well worth it, you won't be disappointed.
I love this little hike..I have been several times with my kids & family & dog..it is very beautiful..depending on the time of year..it can be very hot.
Saw this on AllTrails and thought it would be a great place to see a beautiful sunset. Drove up one evening with my daughter and made the short hike up. Much better in person than seeing it in pictures. Was able to explore a bit and catch most of the sunset before having to head back to the car before it got dark. Will definitely come back leaving more time to picnic and hike around the rocks
Short hike to beautiful views of the valley. Lots of boulders to explore. Great for kids, picnic, or just relaxing outdoors.
Short hike but decent would be a great place to take the kids for some fun and adults there's good bolder in in a couple places and good views
