Shores Lake NF Campground is a 1 mile moderately trafficked trail located near Ozark, Arkansas that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, camping, and fishing and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Shores Lake is an 82-acre lake in the Ozark mountain vacation setting of the Ozark-St. Francis National forest. It is primitive tent sites with electric. The lake is stocked with bass, catfish and bluegill. Campground is a trail head to the Shores lake loop backpacking trail. The 13.4-mile Shores Lake Loop Trail is a wilderness showcase of upland hardwoods and shortleaf pine groves. It treats hikers to views of waterfalls and wildlife, rugged mountain scenery and spectacular rock bluffs in the heart of the Boston Mountain Range of the Ozarks.
We had a great time on the east trail. Took my four young kids with us ages 3, 4, 6, and 7 and they had a blast. We climbed on a lot of the large rocks. Very beautiful trail and can't wait to go back and try the west trail next time.

After the initial shock and surprise of seeing an empty lake wears off and you realize that you came all this way to see a big muddy hole, hike up or drive up to neighboring White Rock Mountain for one of the most scenic parks in NWA.
