Not a lot of change in scenery, but a nice hike in the woods.
Great trail run, lots of roots and rocks to pick your way through but very manageable. The trail head says its 6.5 miles, I think it's closer to 7.
Hike was good however no trail blazing. I was expecting a vista view & there was none. Description says 4.9 miles was actually 6.9 miles.
Agree with all. Bounce, bounce, bounce. If you have bicycle that cost under two hundred dollars, this trail will cause screws to loosen and chains to break. Do not need too expensive bike. But gloves and secure helmet are a necessity. I am not a neophyte (newcomer), but I am not advanced enough to have a happy ride on this trail.
There are A TON of rock gardens, a lot of switch backs and sometimes difficult to see the trail but that makes it fun. It's a slow moving course so don't expect to fly through it. Also a lot of rock gardens on climbs.
If you are a beginner-medium skill level biker this trail WILL be a challenge. It was fun but of you're a slow and steady type bring a snack and lots of water. The switchbacks can be brutal but there are some pretty cool bridges and skill areas. Be careful and pay attention as the trail has not been re-marked in a while and it can get confusing about where to go next.
Great trail in Little Rock area. Get a quick fix mountain biking after work or on the weekend. Ride the entrance road down to the boat ramp to warm up then hit the trail. There is also another beginner trail called Rabbit Ridge that one could use as a warm up trail. Ride it, have fun!
