Hammerschmidt Falls Trail is a 1.2 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Jasper, Arkansas that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is accessible year-round.
The trail is open year around. It is best visited in the spring or late fall when the water is flowing.
Take a left along the creek and not straight, or you will end up on a farmer's horse trail to the gait to his back field (we did this). It's a pretty spot, even if it's dry
Was dry. not running at all. but beautiful scenery.
The road to the parking area is extremely washed out. My F150 did fine, but you'll definitely need a 4x4 vehicle to reach the parking area. If your up for a walk, you can park on the side of hwy 74 and hike in. We visited on New Years Day but it was too icy and late in the day to venture to the bottom. Easy and short trail to the top of the falls. At the trailhead, take the first left before you cross the creek.
A short must see trail.
Idk how anyone found this it took me to someone's front yard on a very long driveway
This fall is one of the highest in the Buffalo River drainage definitely worth the trip during high water flow.
Nice hike in the spring.
Hammerschmidt fall trail is short and barely visible. But the waterfall is quite nice when you catch it after a good rain.
