Recognized nationally as one of America's most intact Civil War battlefields, Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park protects the battle site and interprets the Battle of Prairie Grove, where on December 7, 1862, the Confederate Army of the Trans-Mississippi clashed with the Union Army of the Frontier
Nice paved trail around park. Marked by plaques of events that occurred during the battle. Very interesting old structures from the time of the war.
This is a decent hiking/biking trail. It is well paved and right off the highway. It's definitely an easy trail and one that shouldn't take you more than 30 mins to finish.
It's dog friendly as well! loved this hilly trail!
It's our go to when we are short on time.
Easy trail. Love the added history. Friendly museum workers too!
This is a great paved trail.
Super easy and short. Lots of history. We've brought less-agile members of our family here and they have enjoyed it too. The markers are very interesting. We love it.
This is a fun and easy trail. History buffs will love it!
Nice little trail with nice view at the top of the hill. Easy walk with historical markers to read along the way. Great to walk year round and great to stop and have a picnic at the top of the hill
Nice walk and some historic reading along the way!
The visitor center is really really nice. We did the paved loop and it was full of historic information along the way. We ended up running into an employee half way through and stood and talked to him about the park and area and he was so full of knowledge. This is a must see...even if you don't like war stories...just the history is amazing. Oh...and all the cool old buildings along the way
Prairie Grove is a must see if you have an interest in the Civil War. Nice restorations of a number of period buildings. Nice little visitor center. Close to Devils Den state Park, a really nice state park. Recommended for all. Great for kids
Been there twice. The have a nice battle reenactment every two years.
