Walnut Canyon is a 12.1 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Flagstaff, Arizona that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, trail running, and mountain biking and is accessible year-round.
When doing this hike is important to know that many maps will not show an actual Walnut Canyon Trail, indeed much of this trail in not actually Walnut Canyon trail. You will start out doing the Fisher Point Trail then reach a point where you continue through the canyon rather than finish the remainder of Fisher Point trail.
Super easy hike and a great opportunity to get up close and personal with cliff dwellings. Bring binoculars because you can see many dwellings, across the canyon, from the path.
